UN says projects will improve "very difficult" Dominican-Haiti ties

International organizations and the business sector from both nations agreed to support more than 30 projects in commerce, education, health, immigration, the environment and infrastructure. UN Resident coordinator Lorenzo Jimenez de Luis said Hait’s and Dominican Republic’s private sector will invest in four projects to spurt the border’s economic development in as many provinces: A tourism project in Pedernales, hydraulic in Jimaní; agro exports in Elias Piña, and industrial exports in Dajabón.
