OAS and Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation Sign Memorandum of Understanding

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Agency for International Development Cooperation of Israel (MASHAV) today signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation on issues related to integral development, gender equality, disaster mitigation, and security, in a ceremony that took place at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, DC. After signing the agreement, the Secretary General of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza, recalled that Israel has been an Observer to the OAS for more than 40 years, “and together we have done a great deal in the areas of early childhood education, the environment, disaster relief, sustainable agriculture, and more recently in security, community police training, public and civil security, crisis management and civil emergency planning.”
