Bolivians Finish Voting as Boom Seen Earning Morales Shoo-in

Morales is already Bolivia’s longest serving head of state since 1839 and has more than doubled income per capita in South America’s poorest nation since he nationalized foreign-owned gas fields in 2006. Rising gas exports have enabled Morales to boost international reserves, invest in infrastructure and expand social services, at the same time as posting eight consecutive budget surpluses.
