Mexico to take part in UN peacekeeping missions

Mexico says it has decided to participate in U.N. peacekeeping missions again. That includes the possibility of sending military personnel on such missions for the first time in more than 60 years. The country says its participation will not violate Mexico’s constitution and no legislative change will be necessary to deploy troops overseas. President Enrique Pena Nieto said Wednesday at the United Nations that the decision represents a “historic step.”
